On May 22, 2025, Louis Vuitton presented its Cruise 2026 collection, designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, in Palais des Papes located in Avignon, France. This collection beautifully merged elements of theatricality with contemporary designs, with inspiration from a rich tapestry of historical and artistic influences.

Accessories were pivotal, including different kinds of boots like open toed and sock boots, embellished with mirrors and exquisite materials, as well as leather cavalier boots adorned with numerous shiny grommets. The classic Alma bags were re-imagined with ornate 3D decorations, reminiscent of the intricate manuscript illuminations found on the covers of rare books.
The collection showcased elegant designs, including pea coats and tailored skirt suits, alongside expressive knitwear and jersey pieces, while exploring unique materials like raffia and wood-framed handbags made with artisan Thomas Roger. Fetching inspiration from the artworks in the papal bedrooms, the color palettes and motifs enhanced modern silhouettes such as flaring skater skirts and knitted hot pants.
