Jonathan Anderson’s debut Collection as Creative Director for Dior Menswear for Spring/Summer 2026

The highly anticipated event featured a strong celebrity presence and significant buzz, with an intimate presentation that allowed for close examination of the garments. Anderson aimed to illustrate how different pieces can be combined to create a unique style.
The collection explored contrasting elements, such as pairing the iconic Bar jacket with chino shorts and sandals, or elaborate frock coats with simple trousers and hiking boots. Accessories like high stock collars, inspired by 1920s artist Romaine Brooks, showcased Anderson’s “high-low” approach, merging fashion codes with Dior’s heritage.

Anderson’s vision was highlighted by Andy Warhol’s photographs of Jean-Michel Basquiat and Lee Radziwill, emphasizing Dior’s broad appeal. The venue at the Invalides featured a photograph of Dior’s original 1950s salon, with models walking closely among the audience to enhance detail focus.

The collection engaged with historical menswear through the replication of 18th and 19th-century French styles, showcasing exquisite waistcoats and embroidery, while also grounding the collection in contemporary reality with casual pieces like colorful cable knit sweaters and summery jeans.

The opening look of Jonathan Anderson’s debut collection for Dior Menswear featured the iconic Bar jacket in Irish Donegal tweed, reflecting his heritage and honoring Christian Dior’s legacy. The cargo shorts’ side-looped flanges drew inspiration from Dior’s 1948 Delft dress, showcasing a blend of historical influence and craftsmanship. This collection positions Anderson as a key player in the luxury market, signaling a transformative moment for Dior.
