Rihanna is embracing her pregnancy with a stunning red carpet appearance that highlights her baby bump. The nine-time Grammy winner, 37, attended the world premiere of ‘Smurfs’ in Brussels on Saturday, June 28, alongside her A$AP Rocky, wearing a flowing outfit featuring a sheer center section that showcased her bump.
Her custom Chanel creation, which took an impressive 840 hours to craft, included a celadon green silk chiffon top and skirt adorned with sequins, crystals, and feathers. According to Chanel, the look drew inspiration from the brand’s haute couture spring 2003 collection and was completed with a tone-on-tone organza and feather camellia, along with jeweled buttons.
Rihanna plays the iconic role of Smurfette in the upcoming ‘Smurfs’ film, where her character leads the Smurfs on an adventurous quest in the “real world” to rescue Papa Smurf, according to the film’s synopsis.
“With the help of new allies, the Smurfs must uncover what shapes their destiny to save the universe,” the synopsis reveals.
The film also features a star-studded cast, including James Corden, Nick Offerman, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, Natasha Lyonne, Sandra Oh, Octavia Spencer, Nick Kroll, Hannah Waddingham, Alex Winter, and Maya Erskine. Fans can look forward to new music from Rihanna on the soundtrack, including her recently released track “Friend of Mine” from May.
‘Smurfs’ is set to hit theaters on Friday, July 18.
