Audible introduces a cheaper subscription plan compared to Spotify

Audible, Amazon’s leading audiobook and podcast platform, has rolled out a lower-cost subscription tier designed to make its content more accessible to a wider audience. The new plan sits at a noticeably lower monthly price point than its previous offering and, significantly, undercuts Spotify’s standard individual plan on cost.

While Spotify has long been the go-to for audio content, this move by Audible signals a clear intention to compete more aggressively for everyday listeners.

What Do You Get With the Cheaper Plan?

The new Audible plan may be lighter on price, but here is what subscribers can still expect to enjoy:

  1. Access to a rotating selection of audiobooks and Audible Originals.
  2. Unlimited listening on selected titles within the plan’s library.
  3. Offline listening so you can enjoy content without using mobile data.
  4. Access to Audible’s podcast catalogue, which has been growing steadily.

It is worth noting that the premium credit system, which allows members to purchase any title, may be limited or excluded from the lower-tier plan depending on your region.
