From Hong Kong to In-House: Diane Von Furstenberg's Bold Move to Regain Operational Control
Diane von Furstenberg is reclaiming control of her eponymous fashion house, announcing that by the end of 2024, all operations will be managed in-house once again. This strategic decision marks a significant shift for the 52-year-old brand, which has been under the management of Glamel Trading Limited in Hong Kong since the end of 2020.
At the helm of this transition is Graziano de Boni, who joined DVF as CEO in October 2023. De Boni has been instrumental in reorganizing the company and bringing in fresh talent to drive the brand's revitalization. As CEO, he will oversee all aspects of the business, reporting directly to the board of DVF.
During the licensing arrangement with Glamel, von Furstenberg maintained approval rights over the design of her namesake products, ensuring that the brand's creative vision remained intact. However, with this new development, DVF will regain full control over its global operations, including design, production, marketing, and distribution.
Glamel Trading Limited will continue to handle distribution of DVF products in the greater China region, but the brand's overall operations will now be managed from within. This move is a testament to von Furstenberg's commitment to preserving the integrity and autonomy of her brand.
