Missoni Bids Farewell to Creative Director Filippo Grazioli

In a surprise move, Missoni has announced that it is parting ways with its creative director, Filippo Grazioli. The Italian fashion house has confirmed that Grazioli will be succeeded by Alberto Caliri, a veteran designer who has been with the brand since 1998.

Grazioli joined Missoni in 2022 and has since paid tribute to the brand's founders, Ottavio and Rosita Missoni, by revisiting the house's iconic zigzag and flame patterns. However, his tenure was marked by a lack of taste for color and a dislike for pattern, which narrowed Missoni's lexicon to its zig-zag and fiammato motifs.

Caliri, on the other hand, has a deep understanding of the brand's heritage and has been instrumental in driving sales of the home collection, which has climbed 50% in four years. He is expected to bring a more cohesive and harmonious approach to the brand, which will be reflected in his first collection for pre-fall.

Missoni's CEO, Livio Proli, has expressed his gratitude to Grazioli for his contribution to the brand and has welcomed Caliri's return to the creative helm. With Caliri at the helm, Missoni is expected to continue its path of growth driven by innovation and quality, while staying true to its strong identity.
