Sarah Burton Named New Creative Director of Givenchy
Sarah Burton has been appointed as the new creative director of Givenchy, effective immediately. Burton, who previously served as the creative director of Alexander McQueen, will be responsible for overseeing the design of both women's and men's collections for the French fashion house.
Burton's appointment comes after the departure of Clare Waight Keller, who served as Givenchy's creative director for three years. During her tenure, Keller was responsible for designing Meghan Markle's wedding dress, as well as creating a number of critically acclaimed collections for the brand.
Burton, who has been with Alexander McQueen since 1996, is known for her innovative and avant-garde designs. She has been credited with revitalizing the brand after the death of its founder, Lee Alexander McQueen, in 2010.
In a statement, Burton said, "I am honored to be joining Givenchy, a house that has such a rich and storied history. I look forward to working with the team to continue to push the boundaries of fashion and create collections that are both beautiful and meaningful."
