X Modifies the iOS History Tab

X is turning itself into more of a save-it-for-later app with the launch of a new History tab that collects bookmarks, likes, videos, and articles all in one place for easy access. X head of product Nikita Bier describes the new resource as a better way to keep track of all your favorite content and return to things you want to finish reading or watching later.

With the update, the Bookmarks button in X’s left-side menu of the mobile app has been renamed History. The new page separates your saved content into four tabs which are Bookmarks, Likes, Videos, and Articles, making it easy to dive back in at any time.

How Each of the Four Tabs Works

Bookmarks and Likes

Bookmarks and Likes include posts users have intentionally saved or liked. These two tabs function as the deliberate side of your History — the content you consciously chose to hold onto. The Bookmarks tab also includes a search function, where users can search for saved articles by name, making retrieval significantly easier than scrolling through an unsorted list.

 Videos and Articles

This is the genuinely new and most useful addition. The Videos and Articles tabs will be populated based on what you watch or read on X. No manual saving required. If you watched a video or read an article while scrolling, it lives in your History automatically — ready to be found again without any effort on your part.

The addition makes X feel a bit more like a web browser, where users can return to things they have previously viewed, even if they did not explicitly click a button to save the content.

Everything Stays Private

One detail worth highlighting for anyone concerned about visibility. Nikita Bier confirmed that this entire section remains private and visible only to the individual user. Your History including everything you watched, liked, saved, and read is yours alone. Nobody else can see it.
