Up until now, Snapchat’s creator subscription feature was only available to a limited group of creators who met specific criteria or were part of an invite-only rollout. That model kept the feature exclusive but also kept a huge number of creators locked out of a direct monetization tool that could genuinely change their income.
Opening it up to all eligible users means that a significantly larger pool of creators can now offer paid subscriptions directly through the platform. Subscribers get access to exclusive content, and creators get a reliable, recurring revenue stream that does not depend entirely on brand deals or algorithm performance.
It is a straightforward value exchange and one that has already proven successful on platforms like Patreon, OnlyFans, and most recently Instagram.
