Chanel pays tribute to Coco’s seaside beginnings
Paris Fashion Week concluded on Tuesday with Chanel's homage to its founder's beginnings in Deauville. The show, featuring a tribute to the iconic 1960s French film "A Man and a Woman" with Brad Pitt and Penelope Cruz, unfolded against the backdrop of the seaside town. Highlighting Coco Chanel's inaugural boutique in Deauville in 1912, the runway showcased oversized beach hats reminiscent of her early creations.

The narrative surrounding Coco Chanel has been amplified recently with the airing of Apple TV's "The New Look," delving into her complex history during World War II. Chanel's latest collection, adorned with vibrant pastel hues, was tailored for winter beach strolls, encompassing pea coats, tweed suits, and vintage-inspired ensembles.

Despite occasional critiques of Creative Director Virginie Viard's approach, her designs resonate with elegance and continuity, noted actress and model Arielle Dombasle, a Lagerfeld muse. Alongside Chanel, the final day of Paris Fashion Week featured renowned labels like Miu Miu, Lacoste, and Louis Vuitton, with a surprise addition of Saint Laurent's menswear show to conclude the event.
